Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) treasurer Khalid Ibrahim has been named as the party’s candidate for the April 28 Ijok by-election in Selangor.Although no official announcement has been made, the party’s information bureau emailed his profile to the media this afternoon. The email was titled 'PKR Ijok by-election candidate: Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim’s profile'. Party advisor Anwar Ibrahim is expected to make the official announcement at a function in Ijok tonight.

There has been much controversy over the PKR candidate as certain quarters have called on the opposition party to field an Indian candidate to prove its multi-racialism. Khalid will take on Barisan Nasional’s MIC candidate K Parthiban.

The victims of Alam Perdana housing projects in Kuala Selangor will be gathering at the Ijok by-election nomination centre on 19.4.2007 at 8.30 a.m. in the hope of getting the help of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Housing and Local Governments and Selangor Menteri Besar to resolve the problems arise as a result of the project being abandoned.

Mangsa Alam Perdana, satu project perumahan di Kuala Selangor, akan berhimpun di pusat pencalonan pilihanraya kecil Ijok pada 19.4.2007 jam 8.30 pagi dengan harapan memperolehi bantuan daripada Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Menteri Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan dan Menteri Besar Selangor untuk menyelesaikan masalah mereka akibat projek tersebut terbengkalai.
